Last week, I applied for a job as an International Relations Specialist at a NATO office located in The Hague. I got this e-mail in my inbox this morning from their HR people:
Dear applicant,
We reviewed all applications for this position and gave full consideration to the skills, knowledge and ability you demonstrated in your package.
I am pleased to inform you that your application reflects the experience and KSA’s required in the announcement and, as such, you were referred for this position.
The selecting officials will review all applications and finalize the recruitment process and will notify you, in writing, of the outcome of this recruitment. Please note that interviews may take place o/a 4 months after the closing date of the announcement.
We thank you for your interest in NATO positions and wish you good luck!
OK, so the four month waiting period for an interview is a bit of a time lag/bummer, but I'm so excited right now I could jump up and down!
In fact, I think I will... just a moment.
I'm back now. Slightly out of breath but supremely happy.(And by the way, this bodes well for all of my friends. If I get this job, I will be only 45 minutes by train to Amsterdam, 25 minutes from Rotterdam, 8 minutes to the canal town of Delft, and just minutes from summer beach resorts. Read here for more travel information.)
The old city and the new city...
Cross your fingers!

Yay!!!! Road Trip! Best of luck Kit!
Awesome! Congrats!
Way to go, I hope you get it! I can't believe you heard back from them already, usually with these government jobs they take forever just to acknowledge that you applied.
What great news! Congratulations!!!
